Mobile App Development Cost in Dubai (2026): Market Ranges and What Drives Them
Mobile app development cost in Dubai for 2026: market ranges in AED and USD, what pushes a quote up or down, how long a build takes and the running costs.

Mobile app development cost in Dubai decides more than a budget line: it decides what you can launch first and how soon real users see it. Know which features move the price, and you can launch sooner, spend on what users need and keep the rest for release two.
How much does it cost to build a mobile app in Dubai?
By UAE market figures, most professionally built mobile apps cost AED 40,000 to 750,000 (about USD 11,000 to 205,000) in 2026. A simple MVP sits at AED 40,000 to 110,000. Marketplaces, on-demand delivery and fintech apps sit at the upper end, and regulated platforms can pass AED 1 million. These are market ranges, not our prices.

What waiting for the perfect quote costs you
Comparing quotes for five different readings of the same idea can take months, and every month is one without real users telling you what to build next. A small first release, priced on a clear scope, gets you that answer sooner and makes the next budget conversation much easier.
2026 market price bands
These are market figures: typical ranges from published 2025–2026 UAE pricing guides, checked in October 2026. They are not Flojics quotes. Our price is agreed in your proposal after discovery. USD figures use the fixed peg of AED 3.6725 to the dollar, rounded.
- Simple or MVP: AED 40,000 to 110,000 (USD 11,000 to 30,000), about 2 to 3 months. A handful of screens, login, basic content and a simple admin panel. Example: the first release of a booking or loyalty app.
- Medium: AED 110,000 to 300,000 (USD 30,000 to 82,000), about 3 to 6 months. User accounts, payments, push notifications, Arabic and English, third-party APIs and a full admin dashboard. Example: a retail app with a payment gateway and order tracking.
- Complex: AED 300,000 to 750,000 (USD 82,000 to 205,000), 6 to 9 months or more. Several user roles (customer, driver, vendor), live tracking, chat and ERP or CRM integration. Example: an on-demand delivery app or a multi-vendor marketplace.
- Enterprise or regulated: AED 750,000 and up (USD 205,000 and up), 9 to 12 months or more. Banking, health or government-grade security, large integrations and high availability. Example: a wallet or a telemedicine platform.
Two apps of the same type can differ in cost by a factor of three. The table below shows why.
What drives the cost: tick your column
| Cost driver | Keeps the cost down | Pushes the cost up |
|---|---|---|
| User roles | One customer app and a simple admin panel | Customer, vendor and driver apps, each with its own panel to design, build and test |
| Platforms | One cross-platform codebase (Flutter or React Native) for iOS and Android | Two native apps (Swift and Kotlin), built and maintained separately |
| Design | A clean interface built from standard components | A custom branded interface with animations |
| Admin and backend | Content editing and basic reports | A full dashboard with roles, reports and approvals |
| Integrations | A payment gateway and maps | UAE PASS sign-in, your ERP or CRM and delivery partners, each adding work and some adding fees |
| Language | One language at launch | Arabic and English with proper right-to-left layouts and translated content |
| Real-time features | None, or simple notifications | Live tracking, chat or bookings that update instantly |
| Data | No sensitive personal data | Health, payment or ID data, with penetration testing and tighter access controls |
How to use it: tick one column per row for your first release. Mostly left puts you in the simple band, a mix puts you in the medium band, and mostly right puts you in the complex band or above. Moving one or two rows to the left for release one is the quickest way to cut the price without cutting what users need.
Who builds it moves the price too. Hourly rates in UAE pricing guides run from about AED 100 to over AED 500, by seniority and by whether the team is in Dubai, offshore or both.
On platforms, Android leads in the UAE: StatCounter puts it at 73.3% of mobile use in September 2026, against 26.7% for iOS. A quarter of your users on iPhone is still too many to skip, so most consumer apps for Dubai launch on both, and one cross-platform codebase is the sensible default. Native makes sense for graphics-heavy apps or heavy use of device features. We build in Flutter, React Native and native Swift and Kotlin, so the recommendation follows your app, not our habits.

How the build runs, and how long each step takes
- Discovery and scope, 2 to 4 weeks. Users, the must-haves, the integrations and a written estimate with its assumptions.
- UI/UX design and a clickable prototype, 3 to 6 weeks. It costs a fraction of development and catches expensive misunderstandings early.
- Development of the app and backend, 8 to 24 weeks, in stages, with a build to review each iteration.
- Testing and acceptance, 3 to 6 weeks, overlapping development.
- App Store and Google Play submission: allow 1 to 2 weeks for review, then launch and support.
Running costs after launch
Plan for these from day one, and they stay predictable:
- Maintenance and updates: a common rule of thumb is 15 to 20% of the build cost a year, for new iOS and Android versions, security patches and fixes.
- Store fees: the Apple Developer Program costs USD 99 (about AED 364) a year, and a Google Play developer account is a one-off USD 25. Both stores take a commission on in-app sales of digital goods, typically 15% or 30%.
- Hosting and third-party services: servers, SMS, maps, email and push notifications, mostly billed by usage. If your data must stay in the UAE, choose a cloud provider with a UAE region.
- Payment processing: your gateway charges a fee on every transaction.
- VAT: a UAE VAT-registered developer adds 5%, so check whether each quote includes it.
Three ways to spend less without cutting quality
- Launch an MVP first, then invest on the strength of real usage.
- Match the way of working to the scope: fixed price per phase for a clear MVP, time and materials (hourly) for small or changing work, or a dedicated team for a product that keeps growing.
- Tie payments to accepted milestones, so you pay for tested features, not for time passing.
Price matters, but the cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest project. Our weighted scorecard for choosing a software development company in Dubai includes extra checks for app partners.
What a two-sided app involves: Mowein
Mowein is a marketplace app for home-based sellers and small startups. Sellers upload their items through a web app. Customers browse, order and pay by Visa or Apple Pay in the mobile app, and the order is delivered to their door. In the table above, that is two user roles, a seller web app beside the customer app, and a payment gateway: the rows that move an app from the simple band towards the medium one.
Two of the ways we work matter most for app budgets. UI/UX focus: user experience is considered from the beginning, so design changes happen in the prototype, not in code. Independent QA: a dedicated testing and quality assurance process, so the person testing the work did not write it. We design for UAE PDPL, Saudi PDPL and PIPEDA, and agree data rules with you before access. Our mobile app development in Dubai covers discovery, UI/UX, development, testing, launch and support.
Start with a first scope
Bring what you have: the users, the must-haves for launch, two or three apps you like and the systems it must connect to. Talk to us about your MVP. We ask about your goal, what you use today, your timing and who else should be involved. You leave with clear next steps. The call commits you to nothing, and we sign an NDA first if you want one.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a simple app cost in Dubai?
UAE market figures put a simple app or MVP built by a professional team at AED 40,000 to 110,000 (about USD 11,000 to 30,000) in 2026. That usually covers a handful of screens, login, basic content and a simple admin panel on one cross-platform codebase. Our own price is agreed in your proposal after discovery.
How long does it take to develop an app in the UAE?
About 2 to 3 months for a simple app, 3 to 6 months for a medium one and 6 to 9 months or more for a complex platform, including discovery, design and testing. Releasing in phases gets a first version live sooner, and your dates are agreed in your proposal.
What are the ongoing costs after an app is launched?
A common rule of thumb is 15 to 20% of the build cost a year for maintenance and updates, plus hosting, third-party services and payment fees. Apple charges USD 99 a year for its developer program and Google Play a one-off USD 25. Planned from day one, these stay predictable.
Is it cheaper to build an app with Flutter or React Native?
Usually, yes. One codebase runs on both iOS and Android, so you pay one team to build and maintain one app instead of two. Native development is still the right call for graphics-heavy apps or apps that lean on advanced device features, and we build both ways.
Who owns the app, the code and the user data?
You should, and the contract should say when. Ask when the source code and designs pass to your company, and for the App Store and Google Play accounts to be in your company's name. With us, they pass to you at the end of the project, once the contract is completed and paid. We sign an NDA first if you want one, design for UAE PDPL, Saudi PDPL and PIPEDA, and agree data rules with you before access.
What if the budget runs out before launch?
Launch a smaller first version. With a ranked must-have list and payments tied to accepted milestones, you always hold working, tested features, and the rest waits for the next phase. Each phase is priced in your proposal before it starts, so there are no surprises.
