Data flow

Privacy review first, screens second.

Every healthcare project starts by mapping what health and personal data you collect, why, where it is stored and who can see it.

  1. Patient appconsent captured, minimum data
  2. Encrypted APIrole-based access, MFA for staff
  3. In-country hostingUAE, Saudi or US region
  4. EHR, exchange or insurerpublished APIs, often HL7 FHIR
  • Pseudonymisation for sensitive services: identity kept apart from content, and every staff access logged
  • Encryption in transit and at rest, secure backups and tested restores
  • Clear escalation paths to professionals in mental-health and recovery apps
Health-data rules

Where health data may live, market by market.

UAE
Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 on ICT in health fields generally requires health data to stay in the UAE, with limited exceptions set by ministerial resolution.
Abu Dhabi
The Department of Health’s ADHICS standard, which also covers healthcare technology providers. Malaffi is the emirate’s health information exchange.
Dubai
Dubai Health Authority health-data policies and the NABIDH exchange standards.
Saudi Arabia
The Personal Data Protection Law treats health data as sensitive, and NCA cybersecurity controls apply to some organisations. Insurance claims run through NPHIES.
Qatar
Law No. 13 of 2016 on personal data privacy requires extra safeguards for health data.
United States
HIPAA. We build with HIPAA Security Rule safeguards in mind, and there is no official HIPAA certification. More on working with US healthcare teams.

Your platform can show and check practitioner licences (DHA, DoH or MOHAP in the UAE, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties). If your product may count as a medical device, bring in a regulatory consultant early and we will work alongside them. Compliance is confirmed by your organisation and its advisers.

FAQ

Hosting, records and anonymity.

Can patient data be stored inside the UAE or Saudi Arabia?

Yes. We deploy to in-country cloud regions or your own infrastructure, and design data flows so health data stays where your obligations require.

Can you integrate with our EHR or a health information exchange?

Usually, through the EHR vendor’s or exchange’s published APIs, often HL7 FHIR. Access normally needs approval from the system owner, so we scope it in discovery.

How do you handle anonymous services such as mental health?

We minimise data from the start, separate identity from content where possible, restrict staff access and log every access. We also design clear escalation paths to professionals.

Tell us who your healthcare product serves, and where.

We reply with a privacy-first approach, a suggested MVP scope and the right engagement model. NDA on request.
