Odoo Implementation in Dubai and the UAE, from Tally or Excel to E-Invoicing
We implement Odoo for UAE companies, from the first workshop to support after go-live. We move your data from Tally, Excel or an older system, set up and test VAT and Corporate Tax, connect Odoo to your e-invoicing provider (ASP) for 2027, set up payroll with WPS salary files, and lay out your invoices in Arabic and English. We also build custom modules and AI agents for Odoo, and upgrade older Odoo versions. Since 2014 we have built software for 100+ clients.
Odoo set up for UAE tax, Arabic and payroll.
Odoo’s UAE localisation is the starting point, not the finished job. These are the parts we configure for your company and test before go-live.
- VATAccounting
- Taxes for standard-rated (5%), zero-rated, exempt and out-of-scope supplies, plus reverse charge on imported services. Tax invoices that show your TRN, the words “Tax Invoice” and the VAT breakdown. A VAT return mapped to the FTA’s VAT201, and the FTA Audit File ready if you are audited.
- Corporate TaxAccounting
- Odoo’s corporate tax report is only as good as the way your accounts are tagged, and Odoo doesn’t tag them for you. We set up the chart of accounts and the tags with your accountant, and plan where records are kept: generally seven years for corporate tax and at least five for VAT.
- ArabicEvery app
- Arabic and English screens for your users. Bilingual quotations, tax invoices, delivery notes and statements, laid out and tested. Arabic customer and product names cleaned or translated during migration.
- Payroll and WPSPayroll (Enterprise)Where supported
- Where Odoo’s UAE payroll supports it: payslips and a WPS salary file in .sif or .xlsx, which Odoo says follows MoHRE guidelines. Each employee needs an ID number, bank account and nationality on file, and we test the first files with your WPS agent before you rely on them.

Ready for UAE e-invoicing in 2027.
From your mandatory date, B2B and B2G invoices travel as structured PINT AE data through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), which reports them to the FTA. A PDF sent by email no longer counts, and the buyer needs an ASP too.

How an Odoo rollout runs, and who does what.
Quality is built into every step: CTO oversight on anything custom, independent QA before each release, and a dated plan in FloPlan, the delivery software we built and use ourselves. Each phase ends with something your team can check.
- 01
Discovery
Who: your department heads and one person who can decide, with our project manager and Odoo team. Delivers: your processes mapped, the apps, plan and hosting chosen, and a written scope with a dated plan.
- 02
Fit-gap and design
Who: our consultant, with a CTO-level lead signing off anything custom. Delivers: each requirement matched to standard Odoo, gaps closed by process or configuration first, and a short, agreed list of custom work.
- 03
Configuration and build
Who: our consultant and Odoo developers, with your key users trying each flow. Delivers: companies, chart of accounts, VAT and Corporate Tax tags, warehouses, approvals and bilingual documents, then the agreed modules, integrations and ASP connection.
- 04
Data migration
Who: our data specialist, with your finance lead signing off. Delivers: data from Tally, Excel or your old system in trial loads, each reconciled against it until the balances match.
- 05
Independent QA and training
Who: a QA engineer who did not configure the system, then your key users. Delivers: real flows passed end to end, such as quote to cash, a VAT return, a WPS file and a rejected e-invoice, and each team trained on its own tasks.
- 06
Go-live and support
Who: the whole team at cutover, then our team on support. Delivers: the switch at the start of a month or VAT period, a closed list of early fixes, then new reports, changes and upgrades.
Community or Enterprise, Odoo Online or your own hosting.
Two choices that set your licence bill and how far Odoo can be customised. Odoo publishes its licence prices per user, so you can work out that bill yourself before you talk to anyone. We settle both choices with you in discovery.
Odoo Community
Free · open source
Can work for simple needs. Full Accounting with its tax reports, Payroll and Studio are not included, and building those gaps usually costs more than the licence saving.
Odoo Enterprise
Licence per user
What most UAE implementations use: full Accounting with the VAT and corporate tax reports, Payroll with the UAE localisation, and Studio. Odoo bills it per user, on the Standard or Custom plan.
- Odoo Online
- Hosting included. Runs the standard apps, and Studio on the Custom plan, but no custom modules or third-party connectors.
- Odoo.sh or on-premise
- Needs the Custom plan. Required for custom modules and third-party connectors, which can include your e-invoicing connector.
- Apps we set up
- Accounting, Sales, CRM, Inventory, Purchase, Manufacturing, HR and Payroll, Project.
- Around Odoo
- Custom modules, APIs to your online store, bank and other systems, CRM and Microsoft Power Platform apps.

Questions before a first call.
How much does an Odoo implementation cost in the UAE?
There are two bills. Odoo sells the licence per user on its Standard or Custom plan and publishes the prices, so the licence calculator can work out yours from your users, plan and hosting. Our implementation is priced in your proposal and follows the effort: the apps and users, your branches or companies, how far your processes differ from standard Odoo, the data you bring and each integration, including the ASP connection. For an estimate, send us the apps you need, your number of users, your branches, what you use today and your e-invoicing date.

How long does it take, and when should we start?
Your dates go into the plan at the end of discovery, before configuration starts. They depend on the apps, companies and integrations in scope, how much data moves, and how quickly your team makes decisions, which often matters more than the technical work. Plan back from your e-invoicing date, so the ASP connection is built and tested once, and switch over at the start of a month or VAT period.

What should we ask an Odoo implementer before choosing one?
Ask them to show the UAE taxes, a VAT201 return and the Corporate Tax tags working on a copy of your data, not on slides. Ask who tests apart from the people configuring, who checks the first WPS file with your agent, and how your Tally or Excel balances are reconciled before cutover. Ask which Odoo plan and hosting your scope needs and why, how the ASP connection is tested, including a rejected invoice, and what each custom module adds to every future upgrade. Then ask to meet the people who will do the work.

Can you move our data from Tally, Excel or another system?
Yes. We move the masters (chart of accounts, customers and suppliers with their TRNs, products and warehouses), opening balances, open invoices and bills, and stock on hand. Older voucher history usually stays in Tally or the old system as a read-only archive. Duplicates and wrong TRNs are fixed before the first trial load, not after go-live.
Which Odoo version should we be on, and can you upgrade ours?
New projects usually start on Odoo 20, released in September 2026, unless a connector you depend on isn’t ready for it. Odoo gives each major version three years of standard support, which ended in September 2025 for Odoo 16 and September 2026 for Odoo 17. We have upgraded Odoo versions for clients: we list your custom and third-party modules, drop what you no longer use, and test the upgrade on a copy of your database before cutover.
Can you build custom modules, integrations or an AI agent for Odoo?
Yes, once standard Odoo, a process change and configuration are ruled out, because every custom module has to be moved again at each upgrade. We connect Odoo to your online store, bank and other systems through APIs; outside software calling Odoo needs the Custom plan. An AI agent for Odoo reads orders that arrive by email, PDF or WhatsApp, in Arabic or English, and drafts quotations in Odoo for your team to approve.
What happens after go-live, and can we have our own Odoo developer?
We stay on for fixes, new reports and changes, and plan each upgrade before your version drops out of Odoo’s support. If you would rather have an Odoo developer working inside your own team, we can provide a dedicated one through team extension: you interview the candidates and choose who joins.
