Most Doha companies looking for website design in Qatar collect quotes that can’t be compared. One prices an English theme, another a bilingual site wired to WhatsApp and a CRM, and a third leaves out the .qa domain, the privacy notice and the Arabic layout. The fix is to write down what the site must do before anyone prices it. This guide gives you that list, the Qatar checks from official sources, WordPress or custom, and who should build it.

What does a company website in Qatar need?

Quick answer: Arabic and English designed together, right to left done properly; fast pages on a phone; search basics in both languages; forms that reach a person by email, CRM or WhatsApp; and a CMS your team edits. Qatar adds three checks. A .qa or .com.qa domain needs a Qatari commercial registration or trademark, in your company’s name. Law No. 13 of 2016 shapes your forms, consent boxes and marketing messages. And if the site sells, payments run through a provider licensed by Qatar Central Bank. Put all of it in one brief, and the quotes become comparable.

What a weak website costs a Doha company

Buyers in Qatar check your website before they reply to a proposal or call, and many switch between Arabic and English as they read. Machine-translated Arabic, a form that lands in an unread inbox, or pages that crawl on a phone lose them quietly. A cheap build costs you twice: add Arabic, change the domain or connect the CRM later, and every page is reopened.

The checklist: what a Doha company website needs

Use it as your brief, and send the same list to every company you ask for a quote.

Item What to ask for How to check before launch
Arabic and English Every template designed in both languages, right to left, with Arabic copy written, not machine-translated Each template in Arabic on a phone, including mixed Arabic-English lines
Mobile and speed Phone-first layouts, light images, few plugins and scripts Fill in every form with your thumb; check Core Web Vitals in Search Console
Search basics A page per service, real text in headings, a sitemap, Arabic and English pages linked to each other Every Arabic page has its own address, title and description
Forms and WhatsApp Each form reaches a named person and your CRM, with its source page; a WhatsApp button for buyers who prefer to chat A test enquiry from every form, in both languages, reaches sales
Analytics Analytics and Search Console from launch, counting form sends and WhatsApp taps You can see which pages bring enquiries
The CMS What your team changes without a developer: text, images, pages, sections Your team publishes a test page alone
Accounts Domain, hosting, analytics and Search Console in your company’s name Your company holds every login before work starts
Care after launch Updates, backups, fixes and small changes, and who does each The first year’s running costs, line by line

The Qatar rows: domain, data law and payments

From official documents, checked on 5 November 2026. This is where a quote written for another market tends to fall short.

Topic What the official source says What it means for your website
The .qa domain The Communications Regulatory Authority’s registration policy (version 3.0) asks a company applying for .com.qa for a Qatari trade licence or commercial registration, or a trademark registered in Qatar, plus an official document showing its right to the name. Company applications for .qa and .قطر meet the same rules, through an accredited registrar. A .qa name may not be sold, rented or leased. Register it in your company’s name, not the agency’s. No Qatari CR or trademark yet? Launch on another domain and add the .qa later. Some older pages still call .qa open to all; registrars apply the current policy.
Telling people first Before processing, tell the individual who is processing their data and for which lawful purposes (Article 9). A notice beside every form, and a privacy page in both languages.
Marketing messages Direct marketing messages need prior consent, must name the sender and say they are marketing, and must offer a way to stop (Article 22). A separate box for newsletters and WhatsApp offers that nobody is ticked into, and a stop link on every campaign.
Sensitive data Data on health, children, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, marital relations and criminal offences needs the competent department’s permission to process (Article 16). Keep it out of forms: a clinic asks for a callback, not symptoms.
Online payments Payment services in or from Qatar, including accepting card payments for merchants, need Qatar Central Bank authorisation (Payment Services Regulation). Only if the site sells: a bank or payment provider licensed by QCB, with prices in QAR.

The articles are from Law No. 13 of 2016, as published by Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency. Selling to government entities? Raise accessibility early: Qatar’s e-accessibility programme, run by Mada with the ministry, aims at government websites.

What this means for you: ask for the domain registration, the privacy notice and the consent boxes as named lines in each quote, so they are planned, not added after launch.

WordPress or custom code?

We build both, and recommend what fits:

WordPress, with your own design Custom code
Fits when A company site, landing pages and articles that marketing edits often The site is really a web app: accounts, bookings, calculators, portals or data from your systems
Arabic A theme and translation plugin that handle right to left; check both on a phone Designed in both languages from the first screen
Upkeep Regular core, theme and plugin updates Fewer moving parts, but someone must know the code
Check before you sign Which plugins the quote assumes, and who updates them What your team can edit alone, and who maintains it

Our guide to WordPress vs a custom website compares the two in depth, including running costs.

Local studio, GCC partner or remote team: who should build it?

A studio in Doha A GCC partner outside Qatar A remote team or freelancer
Fits when You want workshops in your office You want design, build and QA from one company, in Arabic and English The scope is small and clear, and someone on your side manages it
Arabic Ask for a live Arabic site they built Look for native Arabic speakers on the team, not a translator at the end Often translated at the end; check who reads it
Domain and accounts Can handle the .qa paperwork locally In your name, with your CR; the partner is a user In your name; insist on it
Testing Ask who tests, on which phones A QA engineer who doesn’t write the code Often the developer tests their own work

How to read it: location matters less than who writes the Arabic, who tests, and whose name the accounts are in. We are the middle column: our Dubai headquarters runs the contract, and our team in Egypt works the same Sunday to Thursday week as Doha. We have no office in Qatar, so meetings are online.

Planning your website? Send us:

  • the pages you need, and which are in Arabic;
  • where enquiries should go: email, WhatsApp, your CRM;
  • whether your company holds a Qatari CR or trademark for the .qa domain;
  • who writes the copy, and whether the site sells online.

Website design in Qatar: what moves the price

There is no single price for website design in Qatar, because each quote prices a different site. These drivers explain most of the gap between two quotes:

Driver What makes it bigger
Page templates Many different layouts rather than a few that pages reuse
Arabic and English Arabic added after the design instead of planned with it
The CMS More that your team changes without a developer
Forms and connections Routing by service, your CRM, WhatsApp, bookings or a customer login
Copy and photos Copywriting, translation and a photo shoot inside the quote
Selling online A catalogue, a QCB-licensed gateway and delivery: a store project
Care after launch Updates, backups and changes included for the first year

A quote is people and phases. A company website needs a UI/UX designer for both languages, developers on WordPress or custom code, a writer if you don’t supply copy, an independent QA engineer who tests on real phones, and a delivery lead who keeps sign-offs moving. The phases:

  1. Discovery: your page list, where each form sends, who owns each account.
  2. Design of each template in both languages, approved on your phone.
  3. Build and connect: the CMS, forms, CRM, WhatsApp and analytics.
  4. Independent QA in both languages, on real phones.
  5. Launch and care, with redirects from any old site.

Our website design cost guide explains each driver in depth. Send us your page list and we reply with the effort, the team and the price.

Questions to ask every website company in Qatar

  1. Is Arabic designed for every template, and who writes and checks it?
  2. Who registers the .qa or .com.qa domain, in whose name, and with which of our documents?
  3. Where does each form send, and which consent boxes does it show?
  4. WordPress or custom: why, and which plugins or licences does the quote assume?
  5. Who tests, on which phones, and is that person separate from the developer? Which client can we call?
  6. What does the first year cost after launch, line by line?
  7. If we are replacing a site, who maps the old addresses to the new ones? Our website redesign guide explains why that decides your Google traffic.

Where Flojics fits

We are a website design company headquartered in Dubai, building company websites on WordPress and on custom code, whichever fits. Native Arabic speakers on our core team check the Arabic screens, and an independent QA engineer tests every template. We don’t sell hosting, so your domain and hosting stay in your company’s accounts. After launch, our guide to website maintenance lists what monthly care should cover.

Our client in Qatar runs an app platform, not a website: Qargo, a Doha mobility platform with a Self-Drive Rental app, a Driver app and dashboards for its admins and business partners. Talk to the team that built it: book a meeting. For a website, Abdulhameed Aljasmi Advocates & Legal Consultants is a law firm with offices in Dubai and Cairo whose multilingual website we designed. Talk to the team that built it: book a meeting. Our page on software development in Qatar covers the apps and platforms we build there.

Send us your page list, or the quote you received

Since 2014 we have worked with more than 100 clients across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the USA and Canada. Our headquarters is at Dubai Digital Park in Dubai Silicon Oasis, and our delivery team works from Egypt. Send us your page list, even half finished, or the proposal you were given.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does website design cost in Qatar?

There is no single price, because each quote prices a different site. The price follows the page templates, Arabic and English, what your team can edit in the CMS, forms and their links to your CRM or WhatsApp, who supplies copy and photos, whether the site sells online, and care after launch. Write your answer to each on one page and send the same page to every company. Send it to us and we reply with the effort, the team and the price.

Can a company without a Qatari commercial registration get a .qa domain?

Under the CRA's current registration policy, a company applying for a .com.qa name needs a trade licence or commercial registration issued in Qatar, or a trademark registered in Qatar, plus an official document showing its right to the name. Companies applying for .qa and .قطر names meet the same rules. Without one, launch on another domain and add the .qa once you qualify. Confirm the details with an accredited registrar.

Does Qatar's data protection law affect our website's contact form?

Yes. Law No. 13 of 2016 asks you to tell people, before you process their data, who processes it and why, so put a short notice beside each form. Marketing by email or message needs prior consent, must name the sender and must offer a way to stop, so use a separate box nobody is ticked into. Keep health and other special-nature data out of website forms.

WordPress or a custom website for a Doha company?

WordPress with your own design fits most company sites that marketing edits often. Custom code fits when the site is really a web app, with accounts, bookings, portals or data from your own systems. We build both and recommend what fits. Whichever you choose, ask which plugins or licences the quote assumes and who keeps them updated.

Should we hire a web design company in Doha or a partner elsewhere in the GCC?

A Doha studio suits you if you want workshops in your office. A GCC partner suits you if you want design, build and independent QA in one team that works in Arabic and English. Either way, check who writes the Arabic, who tests on real phones, and that the domain and hosting are in your company's name.

Does a company website in Qatar need both Arabic and English?

If your buyers read Arabic, yes, and many Doha buyers switch between the two. Design every template in both languages from the start, right to left, with Arabic copy written rather than machine-translated. Arabic added after launch means reopening every page, which is the expensive way to do it.
