Odoo Support in the UAE: What Your Support Contract Should Cover
Odoo support in the UAE: what Odoo's own support covers, what a support contract adds for VAT, e-invoicing, WPS and upgrades, and a checklist to use.

Odoo support in the UAE is what keeps payday, VAT returns and invoicing running long after go-live. The rules around your system change every year, from the 2027 e-invoicing dates to VAT amendments and version end dates: with a team that owns those changes, they are handled before they reach payroll or a customer; without one, they show up as a rejected WPS file or an invoice your e-invoicing provider won’t accept.
What does Odoo support in the UAE cover?
Quick answer: Odoo’s own support, included in an Enterprise subscription, fixes bugs and answers how-to questions on standard features. A support contract covers the rest: custom and Apps Store modules, UAE VAT and e-invoicing changes, WPS every month, user help, small changes, backups and upgrade planning. We support any Odoo in the UAE, whoever set it up.

Odoo’s own support, and where it stops
Odoo’s Enterprise subscription agreement lets you open unlimited tickets for two things: bugs, and guidance on using the standard features. Questions about development or customisations need a separate service agreement. At upgrade time Odoo converts your database, but adapting custom and third-party modules stays with you.
So the line runs here:
- Odoo handles a bug in a standard app, a how-to question on a standard screen and, on Odoo Online, the hosting, backups and security fixes.
- Your support team handles custom modules, Apps Store modules, configuration, integrations, data fixes, training and every change that makes Odoo fit a new UAE rule.
A good support team doesn’t replace Odoo’s helpdesk. It reports standard bugs to Odoo with a test case that reproduces them, and fixes everything on your side of the line.
What a year without support costs you
Several dates land before the middle of 2027. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an e-invoicing provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027; smaller ones appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Where an e-invoice is required, you need it in that format to recover the input VAT. Odoo 17’s standard support ended in September 2026, so it no longer gets security updates. Each of these lands on someone in your company; without a support contract, it lands on whoever knows Odoo best, on top of their day job.
What an Odoo support contract in the UAE should cover
Take this checklist to any provider, us included, and ask how each row is handled.
| Area | What the contract should include | Why it matters in the UAE |
|---|---|---|
| VAT and Corporate Tax | Tax codes, fiscal positions and tax reports updated when the FTA changes a rule, then checked against your next return | The VAT law was amended from 1 January 2026, and each change touches your tax setup |
| E-invoicing | The connection to your provider watched, rejected invoices fixed, mappings updated when the format or your provider changes, supplier e-invoices arriving as draft bills | From your go-live date, a B2B invoice counts only once it passes through your provider. See how to connect Odoo to your e-invoicing provider |
| WPS payroll, every month | A salary file your WPS agent accepts; new joiners’ ID numbers and IBANs; pay rule changes; gratuity checked for leavers | A rejected file holds up salaries. Our Odoo payroll guide lists what to test |
| Version end dates | Your version’s end of standard support on the calendar, and the upgrade planned before it | Security updates stop when standard support ends |
| Bug fixes | Standard bugs reported to Odoo with a test case; bugs in custom and Apps Store modules fixed, or taken to the module’s vendor | Odoo fixes only its own code |
| User help | How-to answers in English or Arabic, and onboarding for new staff in finance, HR and the warehouse | Most tickets are questions, not bugs |
| Small changes | Reports, Arabic and bilingual print layouts, fields, approval rules and automated actions, each scoped and approved first, then tested on a copy | Changes made straight on the live database are a common cause of the next bug |
| Integrations | Bank feeds, payment gateways, your online store and marketplaces, with failed syncs found and fixed | A stuck sync shows up as wrong stock or a missing order. See our Odoo Noon integration guide |
| Backups | On Odoo.sh or your own servers: backups checked and a restore tested on a copy. On Odoo Online, Odoo runs them | A backup nobody has restored is a guess |
| Response terms | How to report a problem, who answers, and how a stopped payroll or invoicing run is handled compared with a question | Agreed in writing before support starts |
| Access and records | Your administrator access, the module list and the custom modules’ source code kept where you can reach them | You can change provider without losing your system |
What this means for you: a support contract is worth what its rows say. If a provider can’t tell you who handles your next VAT change, your monthly WPS file and your rejected e-invoices, those jobs are still yours.
If another company set up your Odoo
We support any Odoo in the UAE, including systems another company implemented. Who set it up matters less than what is installed, so support starts with a health check:
- List what is installed: version, hosting, standard apps, Studio changes, Apps Store and custom modules, integrations and printed documents.
- Get the keys: administrator access, access to Odoo.sh or your servers, and the source code of every custom module. If some code is missing, we tell you what that means before you sign.
- Check the UAE essentials: your last VAT return against Odoo’s report, last month’s WPS file, your e-invoicing readiness and your version’s support end date.
- Agree the open issues: what is broken, what slows people down and what can wait, each with an owner.
- Start from a written baseline, so every later change is measured against a known state.
Support or upgrade: which one do you need?
Support keeps the version you run working; an upgrade moves you to a version Odoo still supports. Find your row:
| Your situation | What you need |
|---|---|
| You run Odoo 16 or 17 | An upgrade, because standard support for both has ended. Our Odoo upgrade guide for the UAE covers the move |
| A standard feature fails on Odoo 18, 19 or 20 | Support: the bug is reported to Odoo with a test case, with a workaround meanwhile |
| A custom module fails after an Odoo update | Support: the module is fixed and retested |
| Your e-invoicing connector isn’t published for your version | Usually an upgrade first, so the connection is built once, on the version you keep |
| The FTA changes a VAT rule, or you change WPS agent | Support: configuration, tested before the next return or payday |
| You need a feature that exists only in a newer version | An upgrade, with support around it |
Want this checklist checked against your Odoo? Send us:
- your Odoo version and hosting: Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own servers;
- your installed modules (a screenshot of the Apps menu is enough);
- who set it up, and whether you have the custom modules’ code;
- your WPS agent, your VAT quarter and your e-invoicing date;
- what goes wrong today, in a few lines.

Who supports your Odoo
We implement Odoo for UAE businesses from Dubai Digital Park, with our core engineering team in Egypt. Our Odoo team supports the systems we implement and Odoo that other companies set up. We have upgraded Odoo versions and connected Odoo to Noon and Amazon; client names stay under NDA. Quality is built into every step:
- CTO oversight on changes that touch tax, payroll or integrations, the ones hardest to undo.
- Independent QA before each release, small changes included, on a copy of your database.
- A dated plan in FloPlan, the delivery software we built and use, for every open request and upgrade.
Our core team are native Arabic speakers, so questions from Arabic-speaking staff and bilingual invoices are handled by people who read Arabic daily. Outside Odoo, we build ERP software from scratch: Al-Mawared ERP is a web-based ERP we built for exchange companies across the MENA region. Talk to the team that built it: book a meeting.

Bring your version and your module list
Support sits alongside upgrades, payroll, VAT and the e-invoicing connection in our Odoo implementation services in the UAE. Tell us which version you run, where it is hosted, what is installed and what keeps going wrong.
Get a support plan for your Odoo → We ask about your goal, what you use today, your timing and who else should be involved. You leave with clear next steps. We reply by email first and set up a call only if you want one. Asking commits you to nothing, and we sign an NDA first if you ask.

Frequently asked questions
Does Odoo's own support cover our custom modules?
No. Odoo's Enterprise subscription covers bugs and questions on how to use the standard features. Questions about development or customisations need a separate service agreement, so custom modules, most Apps Store modules and your own configuration fall to whoever supports your Odoo. A support contract names that team, so every request has an owner.
Can you support an Odoo system that another company set up?
Yes. We support any Odoo in the UAE, including systems another company implemented. Support starts with a health check of your version, hosting, installed modules, integrations and open issues. We ask for administrator access and the source code of any custom modules, and we tell you what we found before support starts.
What response times should an Odoo support contract include?
Terms that match what each problem stops. A payroll run or invoicing that has stopped needs a faster answer than a report change, so the contract should sort requests by urgency and say how each kind is reported and answered. Our response terms are agreed in your proposal, in writing, before support starts.
How much does Odoo support cost in the UAE?
The price follows your Odoo: the number of users and companies, the custom and Apps Store modules, your integrations, your hosting and how many changes you expect. Ours is agreed in your proposal. Removing modules nobody uses is the simplest way to make support cheaper, because each one has to be watched and tested.
Do you host Odoo?
No. Your Odoo stays on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own servers, and your hosting stays where it is. On Odoo.sh or your own servers, our support includes checking the backups and testing a restore on a copy, so you know your data can actually be brought back.
We're on Odoo Online. Do we still need a support contract?
Odoo hosts, backs up and updates Odoo Online, and fixes bugs in standard features. It doesn't change your setup: new tax rules, a new WPS agent, an e-invoicing connection, Arabic layouts or training for a new finance team. If any of those is coming this year, a support contract gives it an owner.
